Debunking fakes in partnership with Facebook
A video actively spread on the Internet reveals an alleged recording of Putin’s secret conversation with Shoigu about the failed attack on Ukraine.
However, there is no evidence that this conversation is real. Most likely, it’s a fake.
Bellingcat head Hristo Grozev notes that the sound profile does not match the sound of a regular phone call or the sound of any of the messengers. In addition, the dialogue is clearly scripted and over acted-out.
Someone has been spreading a clearly forged “phone call” between Putin and Shoigu, in which Putin appears to admit the calamity Russia has gotten into and blames Shoigu for it. No, it’s not a real call.https://t.co/ppWtyPMdQ7

Trustworthy Ukrainian and world media also did not write about the alleged recording of the conversation.
