Dan O’Flaherty Columbia University

Dan O’Flaherty is a professor of Urban Economics at Columbia University. He received a PhD from Harvard in 1980, and since 1986 has been in various academic position, a professor since 2005. In 2006 he was an Acting Director of Finance/Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer of the City of Newark, New Jersey. He was responsible for the financial affairs of the largest city in New Jersey with an annual budget of about $900 million. He is the author of over 50 research papers and actively participates in the community life.
