There is information being spread online where It is stated that that Austria has allegedly agreed to pay russia for gas in rubles. However, this is a fake.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer denied the information about the payment for gas in rubles. On April 27, he tweeted : “Till the fake news of russian propaganda continues to spread here. Of course, OMV (Österreichische Mineralölverwaltung AG, Austrian oil company – ed.) will continue to pay for gas supplies from russia in euros. Austria adheres strictly to the jointly agreed EU sanctions.”
