Debunking fakes in partnership with Facebook
According to the information spread on the Internet, the Ukrainian servicemen, not the Russians, allegedly struck in the center of Kharkiv. The posts allege that it was a blow from the Smerch heavy multiple rocket launcher.
However, this is a fake.
In fact, a strike by several missiles, which can be seen in the video, on the Kharkiv Regional State Administration was carried out by the russian forces.
Christo Grozev, an executive director at Bellingcat, notes that there are no 3M54-1 Kalibr missiles in Ukraine, but they are used by the Armed Forces of the russian federation.
We enhanced the CCTV images from the moment the missile hit the cultural/administrative building in Kharkiv. It matches the countours and dimensions of 3M54-1 Kalibr. Obviously, Ukraine has no such missiles. https://t.co/cQVPmgDvVt pic.twitter.com/MG82sZ4PTz
