Debunking fakes in partnership with Facebook
According to the information spread on the Internet, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi has allegedly started discussing the possible recognition of Crimea and the self-proclaimed republics “L/DPR”.
We explain what’s wrong with this statement.
In an interview with ABC News, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the Ukrainian side is ready to negotiate security guarantees for the country and the future of the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the annexed Crimea.
Zelensky said: “I am talking about security guarantees. I think that items regarding temporarily occupied territories and unrecognized republics, that have not been recognized by anyone but Russia… but we can discuss and find a compromise on how these territories will live on”.
At the same time, Ukraine will not make concessions to Russia and will not agree to the demands of the aggressor country to recognize the self-proclaimed republics and recognize the “accession” of Crimea to Russia.
