Since June 6, news has been spread on social networks that the United States accidentally handed over two tactical nuclear warheads for the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher (MLRS) to Ukraine. Now, according to Facebook users, the US Department of Defense will punish the storekeeper who mixed up the ammunition when loading military aid to Ukraine.

In fact, it is fictional news.

It was published on June 6, 2022 on the satirical site “Panorama”. The authors of the site warn that all their “news” is satire or fiction.

United States officially confirmed the transfer of HIMARS MLRS to Ukraine on June 1, 2022. Together with these systems, Ukraine will be supplied with high-precision G M LRS munitions capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 70 km. GMLRS has no nuclear charge. In addition, there is no open-source information that the United States has developed nuclear munitions for HIMARS.
