FAKE: Photo of the attack on warehouses with ammunition of the occupiers in Kharkiv region by the Armed Forces

Since May 17, 2022, a photo has been spread on the Internet , which allegedly depicts the attack launched by the Armed Forces on warehouses with ammunition of the occupiers in the Kharkiv region in the city of Izyum. They add that according to the information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces, a significant stockpile of ammunition was destroyed. However, in the photo, there is an explosion at an ammunition depot in Balaklia, Kharkiv region, March 23, 2017.

Pay attention! The text of the news is written in a combination of Cyrillic and Latin (compare: instead of Cyrillic “i” in the text used Latin “u” in the words “orku”, “obnylulu”, “russian”, etc.). The text itself is emotional. Such signs indicate that you are facing either a fake or a clickbait.

In addition, the posts provide a link to the telegram channel, where the video from the scene was allegedly published. However, the link does not lead to a specific post, but to a closed telegram channel. You must wait for administrator confirmation to access the channel. Such news with impressive photos or headlines is spread to increase the number of subscribers to the telegram channel in a deceptive way.

On May 16, 2022, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that the Ukrainian military had destroyed russian ammunition depots in the city of Izyum. However, the image that is spread on social networks does not apply to this event.
