Photos showing bloodied remains wrapped in foil and placed on wooden pallets were circulated online. The caption to the photos states that these are the remains of Russian soldiers who fought against Ukraine.

However, this is a fake. Most likely, the photo shows the remains of animals.

A reverse search on Google Images found the original source of the photos. On July 4, 2023, they were published in the group “Shyopot Shebekino” on the Vkontakte social network banned in Ukraine. The post stated that on July 2 in the Belgorod region, in the village of Grafivka, on the street Verhnia, building 5, someone left remains of unknown origin. The autonomous non-profit organization “Center for Keeping and Protecting Homeless Animals “Angel”” is registered at this address. Residents complained that local authorities and services did not respond to complaints

On the evening of July 4, the deputy governor of the Belgorod region, Yulia Shchedryna, reported that the animal remains were removed from the street and attached photo confirmation. The presented photos show the same street as in the “Shyopot Shebekino” group.

Shchedryna indicated that there were 2 tons of frozen livers and intestines on the pallets, which were given to the dogs at the “Angel” shelter. We have not been able to confirm this information from other sources.
