Alya Shandra managing editor at Euromaidan Press

Alya Shandra is the managing editor at Euromaidan Press. She is a civic activist based in Kyiv and an expert in environmental and geography issues. ​Alya Shandra holds a MSc in geography and climatology from the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and prior to Euromaidan Press was engaged in the international research projects “Climate and treeline dynamics in the Ukrainian Carpathians” and “200 years of Land Use and Land Cover Change in the Carpathian Basin,” as well as participating in environmental NGOs. Presently she covers Russian disinformation campaigns and hybrid war against Ukraine, reforms in Ukraine, promoting Ukrainian culture abroad, and others.
