Why the American Model is Unacceptable for the Ukrainian Railway Reform

The author has 17 years of experience in the railway industry, including 6 years as Chief Specialist at the Department of State Policy for Railway Transport of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. The Department is directly involved in implementing the reform, promoting competition in the railway services market, adapting transport legislation to EU standards, implementing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, and resolving strategic issues of the industry development. She has attended professional programs of the European Commission, where she studied the European experience of reforming the transportation sector on the examples of the railways of Germany, Poland, and Spain.
