FAKE: Video of breaking off the protest of firefighters and doctors in occupied Enerhodar

Video of allegedly broke off protest of firefighters and doctors in occupied Enerhodar due to the kidnapping of the Head of Fire and rescue detachment Vitalii Troian has been spreading on the internet. 

However, in the video — firefighters` protest in Athens on November 5th, 2022. Protesters demanded the extension of their contracts amid mass forest fires.

Reverse image search in Google shows images very similar to the fake video screenshots but from the protest in Greece. According to the search query “Greece firefighters protests”, you can find a publication in the Greek publication «Keep Talking Greece» with the video of the protests in it. 

There is another soundtrack in the fake video – the protesters seem to speak russian. Whereas in the original video of the protest in Athens, they speak Greek. 

Moreover, in the original video, in the background, you can see the building with the logo in the form of a circle with a blue triangle in the center.

This logo belongs to the Greek Ministry of Climate Change and Civil Protection. The protest in Athens took place in front of the Ministry’s building. 

 

The buildings at the Ministry of Climate Change and Civil Protection address on Google Maps look the same as the buildings on the protest video.

However, on May 20, 2022 the protest took place in Enerhodar due to the kidnapping of the Head of Fire and rescue detachment Vitalii Troian. The photo and video of the real protest in Enerhodar took place nearby City Palace of Culture «Suchsnyk» can be found on the internet. The occupiers used force against firefighters. According to the city mayor Orlov, russians beat people and damaged rescue equipment.
