Verification within Meta’s Third-Party Fact-Checking Program

From May 19, 2022, there was a video  distributed online of the alleged work of Ukrainian artillery on the positions of russian troops in the Luhansk region. However, the video used in the posts is not related to the events of May 2022.

A reverse image search on Google finds a post on Twitter for 2020, which mentions the events of the russian-Ukrainian war in 2014. In this post, a photo of the artillery was published with a report on the active hostilities of Ukrainian troops near Lysychansk on July 23, 2014.

Via searching in YouTube it is possible to find two  videos , in the description of which it is claimed that the Ukrainian artillery struck at positions of the russian fighters near Lysychansk on July 23, 2014. In July 2014, the fighting really continued in the Luhansk region – on July 24, Ukraine managed to liberate Lysychansk.

It is currently impossible to confirm the location where the video was taken. In addition to it, these videos were not published in official sources or reliable media. However, it can be confirmed exactly, that these videos appeared before 2022 and do not relate to the fighting in Luhansk region in May 2022.
