Checking fakes in partnership with Facebook
The cover of the new issue of Time magazine is being spread on the Internet. It depicts Putin with a fragment of Hitler’s face.
An image that is shared on social networks
However, this is a fake. Time magazine was not published with such a cover, the image was edited.
This fake was also refuted by independent fact checkers from USA Today , Reuters , Facta and Check Your Fact .
If you look at the release date in the upper right corner, you can see that this is a magazine for February 28 – March 7. In the lower right corner is the signature of the author – Patrick Mulder.
Graphic designer Patrick Mulder has confirmed on his Twitter account that he is the author of the images. Madler comments that he painted three images of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and decided to add a frame and Time logo to make his work more influential.

The image has the text “The Return of History. How Putin Shattered Europe`s Dreams ”. These words are on the cover of Time magazine from March 14 to 21, but with a different image.
