Vox Data Bank (VDB) is a platform that shares data of the Verkhovna Rada (and not only). The aim of VDB is to stimulate research devoted to the analysis of the Ukrainian Parliament. We open for cooperation with everyone who are interested in parsing and analyzing data. You can contribute to the project in different ways. For more information, please, check “About” page.

1. What is Vox Data Bank (VDB)?

Vox Data Bank (VDB) is a platform that shares data of the Verkhovna Rada (and not only). The aim of VDB is to stimulate researches devoted to the analysis of the Ukrainian Parliament. We open for cooperation with everyone who are interested in parsing and analyzing data.

2. Who developed VDB and why?

VDB was developed by VoxUkraine team and is our response to the growing demand for open data, which is the policy of making data produced by public sector bodies freely available so that it can be re-used. We hope that this will encourage public understanding of the work of Parliament and enable citizens to find out more easily about the work Members of Parliament have been doing on their behalf. VDB is currently in beta. This means there will be continual enhancements which you can read about via our blog as they happen and we are always looking for feedback regarding VDB project.

3. How can people submit work done using our datasets?

You can send us an email to [email protected] with the subject “Submission” and short description what you have got for us: data and dataviz. We are interested to see what may have been developed using Parliamentary datasets and may be able to feature such work on our blog. We are also encouraging feedback from our users regarding VDB to help improve the platform. Please contact the VDB project team either via email[email protected] or on Facebook. Please send links of all applications developed or a link to your Github page.

4. How can I access datasets?

So far, data is available in csv and sql formats. Please also visit the blog to see how others are using our datasets for inspiration.

5. I would like to contribute to the project. How can I do it?

You can contribute to the project in different ways. First, you can parse data and we upload them on our platform. We encourage you to share your code as well. Second, you can submit a data visualization based on our datasets. We post your dataviz on our blog. Third, you can support the project financially. See more details here
