A group of Ukrainian military members based at the metallurgical plant Azovstal left the plant’s territory under a white flag. This was reported by Aleksandr Khodakovsky, the commander of the Vostok battalion, on his Telegram channel.

On May 7, the Ukrainian military implemented the civilian evacuation plan at Azovstal. Both Ukrainian and Russian military members used white flags to evacuate civilians. According to the Azov Regiment, this procedure was carried out for the fourth time.
Evacuations of civilians from Azovstal, on which Ukraine had been working together with the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, began on May 1. On May 7, Ukraine’s deputy prime minister Iryna Vereshchuk said all women, children, and the elderly had been evacuated from Azovstal. Ukrainian military members remained at the plant but did not surrender.
