VoxUkraine, the Kyiv School of Economics, the University of California at Berkeley, Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics, the USAID Program “Leadership in Economic Governance”, Western NIS Enerprise Fundthe Association for Comparative Economic Studies, and other partners organized a Symposium for a Special Issue of the Journal of Comparative Economics on Ukraine.

Within the event, organizers gave a fresh look on the fundamental long standing questions What needs to be done in Ukraine?How to do it? What needs to be done first?How can we keep support for the needed reforms among the population?

The symposium consisted of 9 policy sessions and 14 academic talks.

A number of prominent speakers participated in the event, including US Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt, Ambassador of Sweden to Ukraine Andreas von Beckerath, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Tombiński, Governor of the National Bank  Valeria Hontareva, Minister of Finance Natalie Jaresko, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavičius, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Oleksiy Pavlenko, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Andriy Pyvovarsky, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Sasha Borovik, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Inna Sovsun, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for the European Integration Olena Zerkal, Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Dmytro Sologoub, and others.

Among speakers, there were also more than 30 top economists from the EU and USA.

As well as VoxUkraine Editorial Board and cofounders.
